● I am applying for an appointment because I have special abilities, knowledge and experience. Please list below:
I have been a resident of Miami Beach for the past 28 years. My 3 children were raised here and I am now and
empty nester. I would like to continue to give back to my community. I have served as an active member of the
Cultural Arts Council for the past two years and at this time, would very much like to shift my attention and serve
on another committee.
I have a personal and vested interest in supporting our LGBTQ community and want to ensure a safe community
for all people to thrive without fear!

o Sunshine Law - Florida's Government-in-the-Sunshine Law was enacted in 1967. Today, the Sunshine Law

right of access to most meetings of Boards, Commissions, and other governing bodies of state and local
governmental agencies or authorities.
o Voting conflict - Form 8B is for use by any person serving at the county, city, or other local level of government on
an appointed or elected Board, Council, Commission, Authority, or Committee. It applies equality to members of
advisory and non-advisory bodies who are presented with a voting conflict of interest under Section 112.3143.

o Commencing with terms beginning on or after January 1, 2024, and as a condition of applying for appointment to
a City agency, board, or committee, each applicant must voluntarily agree that in the event the applicant files with
the City Clerk a Statement of Candidate formally announcing candidacy for City elective office, such filing with the
City Clerk shall be deemed a tender of resignation from the City agency, board or committee, and the member's
automatic resignation shall thereby immediately create a vacancy in the agency, board, or committee.
o If an appointee is engaged to provide services, for compensation, to either (1) a candidate for City elected office,
or (2) a political committee or electioneering communications organization expending funds for or against
candidates for City elected office, such engagement shall be deemed a tender of resignation from such City

I understand that no later than July 1, of each year all members of Boards and Committees of the City of Miami
Beach, including those of a purely advisory nature, are required to comply with Miami-Dade County Financial
Disclosure Requirements.
One of the following forms must be filled with the City Clerk of Miami Beach, 1700 Convention Center Drive,
Miami Beach, Florida, no later than 12:00 noon of July 1, of each year:
1. A "Source of Income Statement;" or
2. A "Statement of Financial Interests (Form 1)¹ ;" or
3. A Copy of your latest Federal Income Tax Return.
Failure to file one of these forms, pursuant to the Miami-Dade County Code, may subject the person to a fine of no

My name is Ami Glottmann.I was raised in Miami Beach,attended North Beach Elementary,
Nautilus and MBSH.I Left after graduating HS and came back over 30 years ago.I have been
married for 29 years,and raised my 3 children here.I had a successful career in retail for over
20 years however when my son Joshua was born 25 years ago with a congenital heart disease,
I stopped working to take care of him -Joshua had a terrifying open heart surgery 2 years ago
and I am DELIGHTED to say Joshua is thriving and what a relief to have that behind him..and
all of us.Because of Joshua,I got involved with Save A Child’s Heart and I as Southern
Regional t for 4 years.I have served on several boards,Mother’s Voices,The Cushman School
for many years and am still active.I have most recently served on Cultural Arts Council
however,after 2 years,my community focus has changed and I would very much like to join the
LBGTQ1A+Advisory Committee.Our family has been very involved in Big Brother and Big
Sisters for decades,Jack was board chair..but enough about him!As a family we volunteer at
Camillus House.Most recently I have served as a Guardian ad Litem.My husband Jack and I
are active supporters of the Aspen Institute and believe in implementing those practices in
Miami Beach.
I have appreciated my free time and flexibility to take care of my ADORABLE 87 year old mom
and my beloved dog Dr.Watson.Not having a corporate job has been great all these years but
now as an empty nester,I would like to give back to my community.I believe in our city and
value our many cultural resources.It has been my honor to serve on the Cultural Arts
Committee for the past two years and it would be my privilege to now serve on LBGTQ1A+
advisory committee.
I will gladly be available if anyone would like to have a conversation with me about my decision
to shift focus at this time,or any other questions.I look forward to continuing to give back to the
community I am so proud to be a part of.
