Section 1 of Ordinance No, 1605 of the City of Miami Beach (Compensation Plan for the Offices and
Positions in the Unclassified Service) as amended by Ordinance No. 95-2968 (adopted January 4, 1995)
provides in part as follows: .
Notwithstanding any other provisions of this or any other legislation, commencing with the
1995/96 fiscal year, all salary changes for all employees in the Office of the City Attorney
shall be recommended by the City Attorney and referred to the Commission Oversight
Committee on the Office of the City Attorney before final budget approval by the city
Commission.
The City Attorney's proposed budget for the year 1998/99 contains salary changes for the employees in the
City Attorney's office. Attached to this memorandum is a schedule of the City Attorney's recommended
salary adjustments set forth by title of the employee, present salary base, proposed increased salary and the
aggregate percent of increase over existing salaries.

A) We are advised that classified employees will receive 3% increase and unclassified employees in other
departments will receive up to the same percentage increase.
B) The aggregate increase for salaries in the City Attorney's Office will not exceed 3%.
C) Increases are based upon cost ofliving, merit and resolving inequities to the extent budget restraints
permit. There may be further minor adjustments.
Please note further:
1) The City Attorneys' Salary Budget has, at the request of Finance, been reduced by $99,546 from the
original approved Budget.
2) The City Attorney is entitled to consideration for deferred compensation upon annual review (to be
