Kathy Warren letterFebruary 12, 2008 Liliam Hatfield City Clerk's Office 1700 Convention Center Drive Miami Beach, FL 33139 Dear Ms. Hatfield; I spoke to you recently about 2 panoramic photos of Miami Beach dating back to 1930. The photos were given to me by a friend, Mrs. Jane Jones, who recently moved from Florida and she didn't know what to do with the photos. That's when I decided to call the Miami Chamber of Commerce to see if anyone there might be interested in the photos. Donna Zemo gave me your name and number. This is what I know about the photos as told to me by the daughter-in-law (Janes Jones) of the owner of the photos. Both photos belonged to James William Jones (born 1910, deceased 1968). He was a race horse trainer employed by Mr. John Schiff to train Mr. Schiff's horses. Mr. Schiff was from Oyster Bay Estates, New York. Mr. Jones had met Mr. Schiff in Aiken County, South Carolina, where Mr. Jones, as a young man had worked around horse stables. Aiken County was a training area for race horses. Mr. Jones would travel with the horses to Miami. Mr. William Jones' son is Terry D. Jones of Marble Falls, TX. Terry's wife is Jane. Ms. Hatfield, if you have further questions, I can be reached at 407-359-4042 or kwarren@cfl.rr.com. 5incereiy, G~~ K thy Warren 112 Michael Drive Oviedo, FL 32765 ~~ m MIAMIBEACH ~~w Y City of Miami Beach, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, www.miamibeachfl.gov CITY CLERK'S OFFICE Tel: 305-673-741 1 ,Fax: 305-673-7254 February 20, 2008 Kathy Warren 112 Michael Drive Oviedo, Florida 32765 Dear Ms. Warren: We are in receipt of your letter dated February 12, 2008 along with the two panoramic photographs of Miami Beach and Bayfront Park in the 1930s.
