Gonzalez, City Manager f DATE: March 17, 2008 '. ;~; SUBJECT: Statistical Information on Burglaries and Robberies The purpose of this memorandum is to respond to your inquiry regarding statistical information on burglary and robbery reports for the time period of December 2007 through February 2008. From December 2007 to February 2008, a total of 101 robberies and 262 burglaries were reported to the Miami Beach Police Department. These figures represent an increase of 18 total reported robberies, and a decrease of 119 total reported burglaries compared to the same time period in the year prior. This represents an 18% increase in robberies and a 31% decrease in burglaries over the specified period. Below please find the total number of reported robberies and burglaries for the time period requested. The police Department will maintain an aggressive proactive philosophy to respond to the City's public safety needs and concerns, and couple that effort with an aggressive investigative response on reported unresolved cases of victimization.
