DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM NO.
23-1994
TO:
All Department Directors
DATE: April 6, 1994
FROM: Roger M. Ca
City Manager
SUBJECT: FREEZE ON REQUESTS FOR RECLASSIFICATION AND SECTION 5s
A Request For proposals (RFP) has been prepared for an outside
consultant to perform a classification and pay study. This RFP
will be issued in the near future.
r
The classification and pay study will include an analysis to
determine if positions are allocated to the proper classification
and if the salary range allocation is correct. Therefore, there
will be a freeze on all requests to reclassify and on requests for
Section 5s and additional salary.
As stated in Personnel Memorandum No. 94-05, if there are concerns
in your department that positions are not properly classified or
that the salary range is not appropriate, please send these
concerns, in writing, to the Human Resources Department to have
them addressed as part of the classification and pay study.
Until the classification and pay study, there will be no new
requests for reclassification or requests for non-routine salary
increases reviewed or granted except in case of emergency which
will require my approval.
Thank you for your assistance.
