SUBJECT: OUTSTANDING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD
This Letter to the Commission is to advise that Sergeant Peter Smolyanski of our Police Department
has been awarded the Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award from the United
States Attorney' s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Sergeant Smolyanski is being recognized for his work over the last seven years where every case he
has presented to the United States Attorney's Office for prosecution has resulted in a conviction.
This is an unprecedented record of achievement.
The Award ceremonies will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at 10:00AM at the Broward
County Main Library.
Please join me in congratulating Sergeant Smolyanski for his dedication and this outstanding
achievement.
