SUBJECT: SIX MONTH REPORT ON THE 1MPACT OF THE EXTENDED HOURS OF
SALE OF BEER AND WINE FOR OFF-PREMISES CONSUMPTION FROM
10:00 P.M. TO 11:00 P.M.
Six months ago, the Mayor and City Commission adopted an Ordinance that extended the hours of
sales of beer and wine for off-premises consumption from 10:00PM to 11:00PM. The Police
Department was directed to report back to the Mayor and City Commission after six months to
advise of the impact of the change of hours.
The Police Department reports that the change in the extended hours has had no negative impact in
terms of an increase in the number of calls for service to these locations and/or an increase in
criminal activity. In addition, the Police Department' s Strategic Investigations Division has checked
more than forty (40) licensed establishments, multiple times, and noted no violations and/or any
increase in complaints and/or criminal activity.
