SUBJECT: ELDER AFFAIRS PROGRAM- ELDER COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
CALENDAR
The Elder Affairs Program has developed an EIder Community Highlights calendar to be issued on
a monthly basis starting in July 2001. This monthly calendar is designed to summarize events of
interest to the elder population. The calendar includes activities organized by the City, other public
entities, and events deemed of special interest to the eider community, including health and
entertainment.
Copies of the calendar have been distributed to all senior housing sites on Miami Beach. In addition,
copies are also available at the Miami Beach Senior Center, Miami Beach Hispanic Commtmity
Center, South Shore Community Activity Center, and the North Shore, South Shore and Miami
Beach regional libraries. The calendar has been mailed to various organizations and agencies, among
them, Alliance for Aging, Jewish Commtmity Services, Federation Information and Referral
Services and Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers. The calendar is also available at the
Civicall Desk at City Hall and at the Office of Children' s Affairs.
