SUBJECT: Flamingo Park Tennis Courts
This Letter To Commission is intended to provide you information relating to damage to the
Flamingo Park tennis courts from last Friday's severe storm. Following the storm, the Parks
& Recreation Department assessed the conditions of the tennis courts at Flamingo Park.
The clay courts sustained significant damage, including run-off of the clay, resulting in an
uneven and unsafe playing surface. As a result, and to prevent any injuries due to the
condition of the courts, all of the tennis courts were closed and are not available for play.
The Parks & Recreation Department contacted two companies that specialize in tennis court
construction and refurbishment to obtain estimates on damage and cost for repairs. We are
pending final estimates.
We will provide updates to you as additional information becomes available
