Subject.' Annual Fiscal Update Trip for Rating Agencies
On Wednesday August 22 through Friday August 24, Mayor Kasdin, Commissioners Cruz
and Smith, Trish Walker and I met with representatives of Moodys Investors Services,
Standard and Poors Rating Group and Fitch Investors Services in New York City. The
purpose of our meetings was to provide a face-to-face update on the fiscal health of the
City as well as to provide the status of a variety of City projects and initiatives. The tenor of
the meetings was upbeat and there was serious discussion of what might be needed to
achieve an upgrade in the rating of the City.
We will provide copies of our final adopted Budget for FY 2002 along with updates of the
Five-Year Budget Forecast and Capital Plan, as well as respond to any requests for
specific additional information. I have attached a copy of the presentation booklets that
were used during our meetings for your files.
