Road
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you about the start of the Julia Tuttle Causeway
(State Road 112llnterstate 195) roadway enhancement project. On Sunday July 12, 2009 the Florida
Department of Transportation (FOOT), District 6, will begin a roadway enhancement work along the
Julia Tuttle Causeway (State Road 112/interstate 195). This project includes:
Repaving and re-striping the roadway;
Installing new overhead sign stnrchues; and
Resetting existing guardrail-
Work is estimated to last approximately six months, through January 8, 2010, at an estimated cost of
$2.8 million, Please note that bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances could impact this
projected schedule.
In order to perform this work safely, it will be necessary to close travel lanes. Lane closures will be
scheduled to occur during non-event nights and weekends as follows:
• 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday
• 11:00 PM l0 7:00 AM, Friday and Saturday
Every effort will be made to minimize impacts to the general public. During paving operations, at least
one lane will remain open in each direction at all times. However, during overhead sign structure
installation, all westbound lanes will be closed; motorists will be notified in advance and dcet_ourssyill he

Project Overview
On Sunday, july 12, 2009, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District six, will begin a
Roadway Enhancement Project along The Julia Tuttle Causeway {State Road (S.R.) AtA 1 Irstentate (1)193 )
from Biscayne Waterway to Alton Road.
This project includes:
• Repaving and ro-striping the roadway;
• Installing new overhead sign structures; and
• Resetting existing guardrail.
