A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA SCHEDULING A JOINT
WORKSHOP WITH THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY ON JULY-22...,1995 AT9:00MO'CLOCK, IN THE
COMMISSION CHAMBERS TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE
PROPOSED TRANSACTION WITH THE PORTOFINO
DEVELOPMENT GROUP REGARDING PROPERTIES IN THE
SOUTH POINTE REDEVELOPMENT AREA, INCLUDING THE
MIAMI BEACH MARINA UPLANDS, THE GOODMAN
TERRACE AND COOK INLET (ALASKAN TRACT) SITES;
AND CALLING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR FORMAL
CONSIDERATION OF THE PROPOSED LAND TRANSACTION
WITH THE PORTOFINO DEVELOPMENT GROUP FOR JULY
26,1995 AT 10:45 A.M.
WHEREAS, a workshop was held on March 6, 1995 to present the proposed Portofino Land
Transaction with the City of Miami BeachlMiami Beach Redevelopment Agency; and
WHEREAS, subsequently, joint public hearings were held on March 22, 1995 at which time
the City Commission requested that negotiations be concluded by June 22, 1995; and
WHEREAS, an extension has been requested until July 28, 1995 to conclude the ongoing
negotiations; and
WHEREAS, a Jomt workshop and joint public hearings with the Miami Beach
Redevelopment Agency are necessary for the process of the Portofino Land Transaction negotiations
to be successfully concluded,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized
to:
1, Schedule a joint workshop with the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency on July~, 1995 at 9: OOMb'clock, in the Commission Chambers
to review and discuss the proposed transaction with Portofino Development
Group regarding properties in the South Pointe Redevelopment Area,
including the Miami Beach Marina Uplands, the Goodman Terrace and Cook
Inlet (Alaskan Tract) sites; and
2, Call a joint public hearing for formal consideration of the proposed
Land Transaction with the Porto fino Development Group for July 26, 1995
at 10:45 a,m.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the Resolution
scheduling a joint workshop be held on July ___, 1995 at
o'clock, and scheduling a joint public hearing to be called for
July 26, 1995 at 10:45 a.m, for the Portofino Land Transaction,
BACKGROUND
A workshop was held on March 6, 1995, to present the proposed
Portofino Land Transaction with the City of Miami Beach/Miami Beach
Redevelopment Agency. Subsequently, joint public hearings were
held on March 22, 1995 at which time the it was requested that
negotiations be concluded by June 22, 1995. An extension has been
requested until July 28, 1995 to conclude the ongoing negotiations,
