Additionally, approximately 5:000 copies of the magazine will be distributed via our parks, schools and area businesses. We are proud to inform you that the Recreation Review magazine was awarded for the second time, the Media Excellence Award from the Florida Recreation and Park Association, a statewide non-profit organization representing local government parks and recreation interests in the State of Florida. "Recreation Review" has won the Media Excellence Award in the Print Catalogue category. The publication has a distribution rate of 69%, and serves the purpose of opening a dialogue that helps the community better understand the needs and interests of its residents. Awards chair Karen Palus stated, "Recreation Review maintains a current and relevant format, making it an easy choice to be a repeat winner in our Print Catalogue category. The publication tells the story of a successful community and a successful agency, through photographs, stories on program successes and activities of teams and leagues. They also profile the professional parks and recreation staff and their commitment to excellence." The Award will be presented August 27, 2009 at the Association's Annual Awards Ceremony.
