A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MIAMI
BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT TO DONATE AN OBSOLETE 911
EMERGENCY TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT IN "AS IS" CONDITION TO
ITS SISTER CITY OF ICA, PERU.
WHEREAS, On December 10, 2008, the Public Safety Communications Unit of
the Miami Beach Police Department relocated to a state of the art communications
center; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the relocation and acquisition of the new
communications equipment, the Miami Beach Police Department has no need to
maintain an obsolete emergency 911 Positron telephone communications equipment;
and
WHEREAS, the City of ICA, Peru has a need for this equipment and would prove
to be an invaluable asset to enhance their emergency telephone communications; and
WHEREAS, there will be no costs to the City of Miami Beach associated with the
donation of the 911 Positron emergency equipment; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and
Commission herein authorize the donation of (1) 911 Positron emergency telephone
equipment in an "as is "condition to the Sister City of ICA, Peru
PASSED and ADOPTED this 9th day of September , 2009.

Department's current Emergency Response System equipment be donated to our sister city, Ica,
Peru.
