SUBJtCT CALEA Re-Accreditation - FLA Status
This Letter to the City Commission is to announce that the Miami Beach Police Department
has successfully completed the process to once again become re-accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Not only did the
MBPD pass their re-accreditation inspection, but they were elevated to CALEA's elite
FLAGSNlP status.
A Flagship Agency represents an extraordinary example of excellence in public safety. This
honor will officially be awarded during the upcoming CALEA Conference, November 18 -
November 21, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be a first for the Miami Beach Police
Department, which by this accomplishment becomes an example (on a national level) for
other law enforcement agencies to emulate.
Please join me in congratulating the Miami Beach Police Department on this tremendous
accomplishment.
