The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to advise you of the Capital Improvement Projects
Oversight Committee action with respect to Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Management
Consultant Study of the Capital Improvement Projects Office Management and Execution
Processes.
AL the request of the Mayor and the City Commission during its July 15, 2009 meeting, the City
Commission approved the issuance of Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Management
Consultant Study of the Capital Improvement Projects Management and Execution Processes
(Item C21). During this meeting, the Administration was directed to present the Request for
Proposals (RFP) for a Management Consultant Study of the Capital Improvement Projects
Management and Execution Processes to the Capital Improvement Projects Oversight
Committee (CIPOC) and request their input regarding the scope of work.
This item was presented to the CIPOC on August 31, 2009 and the CIPOC made a motion to
recommend to the City Commission that the RFP for a CIP Management Study not be issued.
Since the most recent direction we have from the City Commission is to issue the RFP staff
intends to proceed with the project unless there is a sentiment from you to do otherwise. If any
of you would like to discuss this RFP again, please let me know no later than November 2, 2009
and staff will bring the discussion to the December Commission Meeting; otherwise the RFP will
be issued.
