SUBJECT: Existing Vacancies on the City's Development Review Boards
As you may be aware, the City has a number of vacancies and/or term expirations on the
Board of Adjustment (BOA), the Planning Board (PB), the Historic Preservation Board
(HPB), and the Design Review Board (DRB). The vacant categories of these boards are
indicated hereto:
Board of Adiustment
1. Citizen at-large.
This position is currently held by Mr. AlexanderAnnunziato. Mr. Annunziato is eligible forre-
appointment.
2. Citizen at-large.
This position is currently held by Ms. Leonor Hernandez. Ms. Hernandez has resigned from
the Board.
3. Certified Public Accountant.
This position is currently held byMr. Laurence Herrup. Mr. Herrup is termed limited and is
not eligible to be re-appointed.
4. Financial Consultation.
This position is currently held by Mr. Lior Leser. Mr. Leser is eligible for re-appointment.
5. General Business.
This position is currently held by Ms. Sherry Roberts. Ms. Roberts is eligible for re-
appointment.
Plannino Board
1. One (1) position from the following possible categories:
a. a person with experience in general business
b. a person with experience in land development practices
c. a person with experience in land use issues
This position is currently held by Mr. Henry Stolar. Mr. Stolar is eligible for re-appointment.
2. One (1) position from the following possible categories:
a. a person with experience in general business
b. a person with experience in land development practices
c. a person with experience in land use issues
This position is currently held by Mr. Frank Kruszewski. Mr. Kruszewski is eligible for re-
appointment.
3. A Land Developer.
This position is currently held by Mr. Jonathan Fryd. Mr. Fryd is eligible for re-appointment.
4. An attomey who has considerable experience in land use and zoning issues.
This position is currently held by Mr. Gary Appel. Mr. Appel is eligible for re-appointment.
Historic Preservation Board
1. A member of the faculty of a school of architecture in the State of Florida, with academic
expertise in the field of design and historic preservation or the history of architecture, with a
preference for an individual with practical experience in architecture and the preservation of
historic structures.
.This position is currently held by Mr. Henry Lares. Mr. Lares is eligible to be re-appointed.
2. An architect registered in the State of Florida with practical experience in the rehabilitation
of historic structures.
This position is currently held by Mr. Noberto Rosenstein. Mr. Rosenstein is eligible to be re-
appointed.
3. One (1) position from the following possible categories:
a. a registered architect
b. a registered landscape architect
c. a professional designer or professional urban planner with practical experience in
the rehabilitation of historic structures
d. an attomey
e. a licensed engineer, who has professional experience and demonstrated interest in
historic preservation.
This position is currently held by Mr. Allan Hall, in the capacity of an Attorney. Mr. Hall is
termed limited and is not eligible to be re-appointed.
Design Review Board
1. Registered Architect.
This position is currently held by Mr. Michael Steffens. Mr. Steffens is termed limited and is
not eligible to be re-appointed.
2. Citizen at Large.
-This position is currently held by Ms. Gabrielle Redfern. Ms. Redfern is eligible for re-
appointment.
3. A Registered Architect, Professional Designer or Professional Urban Planner.
This position has been vacant for the past year.
4. One (1) position from the following possible categories
a. a Registered Architect
b. a member of the faculty of a school of architecture, urban planning or urban design in
the state, with practical or academic expertise in the field of design, planning, historic
preservation or the history of architecture
c. a Professional Architectural Designer
d. a Professional Urban Planner.
This position is currently held by Mr. Alex David, in the capacity of a Professional Urban
Planner. Mr. David is eligible to be re-appointed.
5. Registered Landscape Architect.
This position is currently held by Mr. Seraj Saba. Mr. Saba is eligible for re-appointment.
In order to maintain quorums, the members of the boards whose terms have expired can be
held over for a period not to exceed 60 days from December 31, 2009. Consequently, the
need for members is very pressing for all of the City's Development Review Boards, as none
will be able to field quorums after their February meetings if no new appointments or re-
appointments are made.
