SUBJECT: Drexel Avenue Closure -Public Meeting
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you of an upcoming public meeting for the purpose of
soliciting public input on a proposal to close a portion of Drexel Avenue between 17th Street and Lincoln Lane
North. The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hice Hall of the
Miami Beach Community Church on 1620 Drexel Avenue.
The public meeting will be held to solicit input and suggestions from the public on the proposed closure of
Drexel Avenue between 17th Street and Lincoln Lane. Also proposed is the conversion of Drexel Avenue
between Lincoln Lane and Lincoln Road (north) to aone-way northbound. The public meeting is required per
the Miami-Dade County (County) Traffic Flow Modification/Street Closure Procedures Manual. The results of
the public meeting, along with recommendations from a trafl`tc engineering study on the closure, will be
presented to the City Commission at the January 13, 2010 City Commission meeting.
