SUBJECT: MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT MARKED VINTAGE
1955 DODGE POLICE CRUISER
This Letter to the Commission will serve to inform you that on December 13, 2009, the Miami
Beach Police Department took delivery of the vintage 1955 Dodge authentic marked Police
Cruiser. As you are aware, the Miami Beach City Commission accepted the donation of this
vehicle from Mr. Adam Rose during the February 25, 2009 meeting. Arrangements are
being made with the assistance of Fleet Management to transfer the title of the vehicle to the
City of Miami Beach.
The MBPD will showcase the vehicle at events, parades, rallies, as well as displays at
cultural and civic events in the City of Miami Beach and other venues. These types of
interactions bring the MBPD closer to the community, especially to children, facilitating a
positive friendly image which has far reaching benefits.
On December 30, 2009, the MBPD will have a ceremony at 11:00 AM in front of the Police
Headquarters (1100 Washington Avenue), to formally present/unveil the vehicle and
recognize Mr. Rose for his generous gift to the MBPD. You are invited to attend.
