SUBJECT: Special Master Website
In accordance with the City's Strategic Plan to expand the hours of service through E-
Governmentand Transparency, the Special Master Website is currently undergoing major
enhancements. Two enhancements are currently available to the public.
The first enhancement is that anyone, via the Internet, can view and print Special Master
agendas and rulings in "real time" rather than viewing a possibly outdated PDF document.
In real time, as cases are added to a Special Master Agenda, the information is
automatically available on the Internet.
The second enhancement is the addition of the Special Master Case Synopsis, which
enables anyone to view and print a specific case history in real time. Previously, the Special
Master Case Synopsis was only available to the public via the City Clerk's office by either e-
mail, fax, or walk-in.
It should be noted that the City of Miami Beach is the first municipality to provide this
information to the public in real time, using the latest IT technology.
Future enhancements include the addition of an on-line Special Master Activity Report, by
address, which lists all Special Master cases, and the status of the case.
Because of the design and development of the new Special Master Web Application, the
opportunity to access and display all Building, Code Compliance, and Fire Violations in real
time is being pursued.
