#908 A Great Convention City brochure 1987 r ~~ ~.,.~ .,. ~ If it didn't exist, you'd have to invent it. Because there's no greater convention city under the sun. For any kind of event that brings people together under one roof, Miami Beach has more roofs to put them under than anywhere else in the world. More hotels with more rooms and more meeting and convention facilities. And bigger than any of them, the Miami Beach Convention Center. You saw it in 1968 when the Republi- cans held their convention herE~. You saw it again in 1972 when the Democrats came here and tree Republicans came too -again. And when you see it the next time, it will be even bigger and better. Because we've doubled its effective size with a 250,000 sq. ft. addition designed by the architectural firm of Edward Durell Stone and Associates. Contained in its two stories are 50 meeting rooms with capacities ranging from 3,000 to 65 persons. All of them equipped for any breed of sophisticated sound and sight audio- visual presentations. And all in addition to the 130,500 sq. ft. North Hall and the 108,000 sq. ft. Sou1:h Hall arena areas. And the 3,800 seat auditorium. Space to sprea~~ out in, space to set up in, space to work in, space to meet in, space to exhibit in, space to choose, space to use. Half a million squ<~re feet of space that includes every diversified support facility. A great convention deserves a great convention center. And a great convention city. Ours. "= ~.
