Subject: Miami Beach Town Hall Meeting/Parent Teacher Association Invitation
The purpose of this LTC is to invite you to the Miami Beach Town Hall Meeting
sponsored by the Miami Beach Feeder Pattern Parent Teacher Association (PTA), on
Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Nautilus Middle School (flyer attached).
This town hall meeting was requested at the February 23, 2010, Committee for Quality
Education meeting and is supported by all City public schools.
The topic for the meeting will be "What Students and Parents Can Do to Advocate for
Public Education." Guest speakers at the meeting .include Dr. Martin Karp, School
Board Member District 3, Ms. Judith Marte, Chief Budget Officer, and Ms. Iraida R.
Mendez-Cartaya, Assistant Superintendent, Intergovernmental Affairs and Grants
Administration. In addition, City public schools and parents, elementary, middle, and
high school, will receive notification of this meeting and are participating in this
opportunity.
