SUBJECT: International Coastal Cleanup Day/Mia '-Dade Coastal Cleanup ``~'
The purpose of this LTC is to announce that the City of Miami Beach Comrr~t~nit~-Outreach
Team is coordinating the City's participation in the Annual International Coastat•' Cleanup
Day/Miami-Dade Coastal Cleanup to be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
During this event, thousands of volunteers will spend their morning collecting millions of pounds
of .litter and ,debris on inland roadsides, along coastal areas, inland lakes and rivers worldwide.
Eight volunteer projects will be held in Miami. Beach on Saturday; September 25, 2010 from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The projects wi11 be coordinated with the cooperation of several partner
organizations. The project sites are as follows:

' All participants will volunteer through the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach (ECOMB) and
Miami-Dade Coastal Cleanup. It is anticipated that there will be approximately 700 volunteers
participating as part of the various projects. Following the Cleanup volunteers are invited to the
"Volunteer Appreciation Party to be held at the Miami Seaquarium:
The City Of Miami Beach, Miami Dade County and, private donations will combine to support all
of the activities. Materials ,and equipment are- to be funded by an award from Keep America
' Beautiful, which supports environmental cleanup and beautification efforts and is underwritten
by Waste Management,-Inc:
