This Letterto Commission is provided to invite you to attend the City of Miami Beach P-arksNa~nd
Recreation Department's 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. This event will be held at North
Shore Park and Youth Center on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Children, adults
' and seniors from the Miami Beach community will be able to enjoy a variety of fun educational
:activities.
" ~ Children from,the City of Miami Beach's after school' programs will present an array of Latin
dance performances to music sung by popular Hispanic artists and groups. There will be many
authentic Latin dishes for residents to enjoy along with some Latin grooves.
In addition to the festivities, notable Miami Beach Hispanics will be honored with the 2010
.Hispanic Heritage Month Award. This year's recipients, as selected by the Hispanic Affairs
Committee, are as follows: .
• Elsa Urquiza (res'ident) Luis Hernandez (business)
• Fernando Cid de .Diego (artist) Margarita Cepeda (social service)
• Maria Costa (educator).
