SUBJECT: Status Update- Scott Rakow Youth Center Ice:Rink
The intent of this Letter to Commission is to provide you a status update of the closure of the
Scott Rakow Youth Center Ice Rink.
On Thursday, May 12, 2011, a piston broke on a compressor at the ice skating rink causing
the ice to melt and forcing the Parks and Recreation Department to close the rink shortly
thereafter. Property Management- immediately began working closely with Parks and
Recreation to rectify the problem.
All necessary parts to complete the repair were immediately procured and are estimated to
arrive on June 9 2011. The estimated re- opening of the ice skating rink is Monday, June
13, 2011, our first day of Summer Camp.
