SUBJECT: "CityVision" #40 & "Plan and Prepare Miami Beach" Now Airing on MBTV77
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform you that our latest edition of
CityVision is currently airing on MBTV77. As you know, CityVision is part of Miami Beach's
ongoing efforts to provide enhanced information about the City to our community.
The June /July 2011 edition of "CityVision" features the following newsworthy stories:
• We are making it easier for our residents and businesses to ask questions or submit
complaints. We share details on our improved Online Customer Support Center;
• Lincoln Road is constantly getting better! We explain the City's latest upgrades to
the East end of Lincoln Road in our Planned Progress segment;
• See how diligent police work resulted in a decrease in violent crime in 2010, despite
it being one of the busiest tourism years on record;
• Watch how local kids are being inspired and educated by Miami Beach's amazing
Public Art with a new City- sponsored program; and,
• A new class for residents with a desire to help during a disaster allows them to now
become a part of our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Other stories in this edition of "CityVision" include the new agreement that will bring classic
American musicals to our City's Byron Carlyle Theater, and we take you along as the
Community Development Bus Tour showcases how crucial Federal dollars are enhancing
important services in Miami Beach. This edition was filmed inside the Art Deco Welcome
Center while the First Annual Sister Cities International Artist Showcase was taking place.
