SUBJECT M.A.D D Awards
This Letter to the City Commission is to provide information on the 2011 M.A.D.D. On
Tuesday, June 14, the 2011 Annual M.A.D.D. Awards were presented to honor the
below recipients for their support of DUI /DRE Enforcement, the use of Sobriety
Checkpoints, and DUI Saturation Patrols as a deterrent to DUI crime furthering
M.A.D D.'s cause. It should be noted that of all the awards received by Miami Beach
Police Department, the most notable was M.A.D.D's top award (Trooper Robert Smith
Memorial Award) given to Officer Robert Silvagni.
