SUBJECT: Fourth of July — Independence Dad, elebration
This Letter to Commission is intended to inform you of the City's plans for the 4 1h of July. As
you know, the City annually celebrates the Fourth of July with a fireworks display on Ocean
Drive. The City has once again partnered with Classical South Florida Radio, 89.7 FM, for
our "Fire on the Fourth" event and will provide FREE concerts, featuring blues and jazz, and
fireworks. The following outlines the schedule of activities for the day:
Monday, July 4, 2011, Ocean and 8 Street
Noon - 4:00 PM: DJ Maximus
8:30: Big Poppa E and the E Band
7:45: South Florida Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Chuck Bergeron, featuring special
guest vocalist Nicole Henry
9:00: Fireworks
Classical South Florida (89.7 FM Miami) will simulcast the event
I'd also like to recognize Classical South Florida, Waste Management, Mangos Tropical
Cafe, Monster Energy Drink, New York Times and the Ocean Drive Association who are all
supporting the event.
Parking will be provided for you at the 7 th Street Garage.
