SUBJECT: 6 North Shore Park
This Letter to Commission is provided to cordially invite you to attend the City of Miami Beach
Parks and Recreation Department's 6 Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. This event will be
held at North Shore Park and Youth Center on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 6:00 — 9:00 pm.
Children, adults and seniors from the Miami Beach community will be treated to a variety of fun
and educational activities.
Children from the City of Miami Beach's after school programs will present an array of Latin
dance performances to music sung by popular Hispanic artists and groups. There will be many
authentic Latin dishes available for purchase for residents to enjoy along with some Latin
grooves.
In addition to the festivities, notable Miami Beach Hispanics will be honored with the 2011
Hispanic Heritage Month Award. This year's recipients, as selected by the Hispanic Affairs
Committee, are as follows, and will be recognized at approximately 7:00 p.m.
