SUBJECT NASCAR Championship Drive Youth Fest
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you of the Miami Beach Teen Club's
participation in the NASCAR Championship Drive Youth Fest to be held on Friday, November 18,
2011 at Lummus Park, between 7 th and 9 th Avenue.
NASCAR invited eighty deserving teens from the City of Miami Beach Teen Club to partake in the
festivities. NASCAR will provide the teens with lunch, t- shirts and even the opportunity to
experience the thrill of racing through virtual rides, and will engage students by teaching them how
math, physics and teamwork are essential to racing's success. The Youth Fest's goal is to provide
students, teachers and faculty new and exciting ways to learn, while integrating how it relates to
the sport of racing.
The very next day the teens will be spectators at the Homestead Miami Speedway to witness what
for most of them will be their first ever NASCAR Championship Race.
