SUBJECT: Grand Re- Opening of the South Pointe Park Playground
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you and cordially invite you16 attgid the
grand re- opening of the South Pointe Park playground to be held on Friday, November 18, 2011,
at 5:00 PM at 1 Washington Avenue, and the official opening of the concession operated by
Blissberry Yogurt Bar. Please see attached invitation.
The re- opened South Pointe Park playground includes a new "open play" Evos Playsystem for
ages 5 -12 +, and a Weevos Playsystem for ages 2 -5 years, along with two toddler swings. These
new playsystems are extremely popular due to their unique appearance and challenging play
experiences. All play components are 100 percent ground -level accessible.
Biissberry Yogurt Bar, the concessionaire at the South Pointe Park pavilion, will be partnering
with the City, to provide free yogurt samples, face painting and a yoga session.
As part of the activities, the Parks and Recreation Department will also be hosting a free "Movie
in the Park" starting promptly at 6:00 pm and featuring the comedy film . "The Zookeeper."
