A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, WAIVING SPACE
RENTAL CHARGES AT THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION
CENTER, IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,000, FOR STEM TECH
OLYMPIAD 2012, AT THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION
CENTER FROM APRIL 26-29, 2012, INCLUDING LOAD-IN AND
LOAD-OUT.
WHEREAS, Stem Tech Olympiad 2012 will be held in the Miami Beach
Convention Center April 26 —April 29, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Stem Tech is a leading robotics competition where students of all
grade levelsd can showcase and compete with the best in robotics; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to support Stem Tech in its endeavors in providing
technological education to its students; and
WHEREAS, the waiver of space rental costs at the Miami Beach Convention
Center allows Stem Tech to better further its mission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby waive space rental charges, in the amount of $33,000 for Stem
Tech Olympiad 2012, at the Miami Beach Convention Center from April 26-29, 2012,
including load-in and load-out.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of February, 2012.
