SUBJECT: PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE GARAGE — FPA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
The purpose of this LTC is to advise the Mayor and City Commission of the FPA's (Florida
Parking Association) recognition of the Pennsylvania Avenue Garage, at the annual Florida
Parking Association Exhibition and Conference held on December 9, 2011.
The FPA is a parking industry state association whose membership is mostly comprised of
municipalities; colleges /universities; airports; private parking operators; and vendors. The
FPA has various award categories including parking structures and parking programs. The
City of Miami Beach is a member of FPA.
Mr. Vick Crespin, Vice President of KVC Constructors, Inc., the contractor on the
Pennsylvania Avenue Garage project, submitted an application on behalf of the City as well
as themselves to the FPA for consideration in the category of New Parking Structures. The
Pennsylvania Avenue Garage was selected for the 2011 Award of Excellence — New
Parking Structure. The FPA provided KVC and the City with the award in the form of an
inscribed crystal obelisk. The City should be very proud of the Pennsylvania Avenue Garage
and this award bestowed by the FPA.
