SUBJECT: SCOTT RAKOW YOUTH CENTER ADVISORY BOARD MOTION
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you that the Scott Rakow Youth Center
Advisory Board proposed a motion regarding dedicating the Scott Rakow Youth Center ice
skating rink to Barbara Medina who was a 30 year volunteer ice skating coach who died three
weeks ago from pancreatic cancer.
The Board acknowledges that Barbara Medina had a huge impact on the ice rink skating
program from its inception in 1976.
MOTION: The Scott Rakow Youth CenterAdvisory Board unanimously requests that the
City dedicate the Scott Rakow Youth Center ice skating rink to Barbara Medina, former
ice rink volunteer skating coach.
Members Present: Jeff Graff, Paul Stein, Annette Cannon, Dana Turken, Michael Burnstine,
Stephanie Rosen, and Esther Egozi Choukroun.
