SUBJECT: 4`h Annual Kindergarten Cop Fun Fair
The purpose of this Letter to Commission(LTC)is to advise you of the details related to the
4`h Annual Kindergarten Cops Fun Fair.
As you may know, Kindergarten Cops is a program that began 4 years ago, which is
centered on Police Officers volunteering their time to adopt a Kindergarten class and visit
their classroom once a month for the school year.
Miami Beach Officers present the kids with valuable messages regarding honesty, kindness
and respect, as well as stranger danger, calling 911 and bicycle safety. The concept behind
the program is simple—cops and children connecting. It is our goal that these children,who
are at an impressionable age, take the lessons learned through this program and use them
to make important decisions and avoid destructive choices.
After a year of hard work, our kindergarteners will be graduating and moving on to First
Grade. We invite you to come celebrate their achievements and this important milestone,
along with the Miami Beach PAL and our Miami Beach Kindergarten Cops.
The event will take place on Thursday May 17, 2012 at Muss Park (4400 Chase Avenue)
from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
