Gonzalez, City Manager DATE: May 18, 2012 SUBJECT: CityVision #45 Now Airing on MB 77 As part of Miami Beach's ongoing efforts to provide enhanced information about the City to the community, we are now airing the latest edition of "CityVision" on MBTV77, our government access cable TV station. "CityVision" is a 30- minute video magazine show produced by the Office of Communications specifically to illustrate the City's progress in meeting the goals of our strategic plan, and to provide information to our residents on current events, programs and services that affect them. The June /July 2012 edition of "CityVision" features the following newsworthy stories: • A closer look at new partnerships positively impacting the City and our residents including the new agreement naming Coca -Cola as our official non - alcoholic beverage maker; • The City's efforts to save money and energy are praised by the Federal Government. Our crews are along when Nancy Sutle y head of the White House Council on Environmental Quality tours our new geothermal operation; • The Sunset Harbor neighborhood is getting 450 new parking spots, we have the details; and, • We feature three current Miami Beach police officers who were shot on the job in past years, but determined to return to public service once again. Other stories covered include a feature on our Parks & Recreation Department's Surf Camp for kids with Autism; the revitalization of the Byron Carlye Theatre in North Beach continues with help from the Miami Childrens Theater; and we feature our highly successful "5 Nights at the Opera" on the ExoStage at SoundScape. This edition was shot in the newly renovated Collins Park. It's home to so many great events including the Bass Museum's new program "Temporary Contemporary." We explain the new public art venture.
