2012-27931 Reso RESOLUTION NO. 2012-27931 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PLACING JORGE M. GONZALEZ ON PAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE EFFECTIVE JULY 8, 2012 THROUGH JULY 18, 2012, OR ON ANY ALTERNATE DATE THAT THE JULY CITY COMMISSION MEETING IS ACTUALLY HELD, PENDING FINALIZATION OF DETAILS PERTAINING TO JORGE M. GONZALEZ' SEPARATION FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH. WHEREAS, City Manager Jorge M. Gonzalez submitted his resignation on May 9, 2012, effective July 8, 2012 pursuant to provisions of the employment agreement dated July 26, 2000 and as amended, and his resignation was accepted by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, Mayor Matti Herrera Bower at the May 9, 2012 City Commission Meeting requested that Commissioner Jorge R. Exposito and City Attorney Jose Smith meet with City Manager Jorge M. Gonzalez to finalize the details of the City Manager's separation from the City; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission and the City Manager wish to resolve all pending details relative to the City Manager's separation from the City and present the status to the Mayor and City Commission at the July 18, 2012 City Commission Meeting, or on any alternate date that the July City Commission meeting is actually held; and WHEREAS, in order to complete the details of Jorge M. Gonzalez' separation from the City, Jorge M. Gonzalez will be placed on paid administrative leave effective July 8, 2012 through July 18, or on any alternate date that the July City Commission meeting is actually held; and WHEREAS, while Jorge M. Gonzalez is on paid administrative leave, he will not be in the City Manager classification nor will he perform any duties of the City Manager because the sole purpose of being placed on paid administrative leave is to continue the discussions with City Attorney Jose Smith and bring resolution to all pending details pertaining to Mr. Gonzalez' separation from the City and then subsequently present a status to the Mayor and City Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Jorge M. Gonzalez will be placed on paid administrative leave effective July 8, 2012 through July 18, 2012, or on any alternate date that the July City Commission meeting is actually held, in order to finalize all pending details relative to the City Manager's separation from the City and present a status to the Mayor and City Commission. —� PASSED and ADOPTED this, the day of V w 2012.
