Brooks, Interim City Manager / DATE: July 12, 2012 SUBJECT: UPCOMING FDOT ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION ON COLLINS AVENUE FROM LINCOLN ROAD TO 26 STREET /INDIAN CREEK DRIVE The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin construction of a roadway project on Monday, July 16, 2012. The project is located along State Road A1A/Collins Avenue from north of Lincoln Road to 26 Street/Indian Creek Drive. Construction is scheduled to last about six (6) months. To complete the work safely, FDOT will need to close travel lanes at times. According to the attached project fact sheet, lane closures will occur from 9AM to 3:30 PM. FDOT has advised that the lane closures will occur in stages and flagmen will be used as needed to help direct traffic and minimize congestion. As part of its public information program, FDOT has created a project website and placed information about lane closures and project details on the following website: www.fdotmiamidade.com Enclosed please find a project fact sheet which FDOT has distributed throughout the project area.
