SUBJECT: UPCOMING FDOT ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION ON 41ST STREET/ARTHUR
GODFREY ROAD FROM ALTON ROAD TO COLLINS AVENUE
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you that the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin construction of a roadway project on Monday, July
16, 2012. The project is located along 41St Street/Arthur Godfrey Road from Alton Road to
Collins Avenue. Construction is scheduled to last about six (6) months.
To complete the work safely, FDOT will need to close travel lanes at times. According to the
attached project fact sheet, lane closures will occur from Sundays to Thursdays from 9PM to
5:30AM and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 PM to 7AM. FDOT has advised that the lane
closures will occur in stages and flagmen will be used as needed to help direct traffic and
minimize congestion. As part of its public information program, FDOT has created a project
website and placed information about lane closures and project details on the following website:
www.fdotmiamidade.com.
Enclosed please find a project fact sheet which FDOT has distributed throughout the project
area. The fact sheet includes project information, the construction schedule, and contact
details.

OVERVIEW
On Monday July 16,the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway construction
project along SR 112/41 Street/Arthur Godfrey Road from Alton Road to Collins Avenue in the City of Miami Beach.
HELPFUL TIPS
• Allow extra time to reach your destination
• Obey all posted signs and speed limits
• Watch for signs with information about upcoming work and traffic conditions
ALWAYS PUT SAFETY FIRST
For your safety and the safety of others, please use caution when driving, walking or biking around any construction
zone. Wearing a safety belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle
crashes. The department takes steps to reduce construction effects, but you might experience the following around
the work site. Please note that this schedule could change due to bad weather or other unexpected conditions.
• Side street, traffic lane and sidewalk closures
• Increased dust and noise
• Workers and equipment moving around the area.
