SUBJECT: Convention Center Advisory Board Motion
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to transmit to you a motion passed by the
Convention Center Advisory Board (CCAB) during their regular meeting held on October 2,
2012, pertaining to the enhancement of the Miami Beach Convention Center. The following
motion was approved by the CCAB by a 5 -1 vote of the members present (one (1) member
was absent):
• Motion reaffirming the April 3, 2012 action of the CCAB (see attached)
recommending withdrawal of RFQ 22 11/12 forthe Development of the Miami Beach
Convention Center District and recommending the City issue a new RFP to enhance
and improve the Miami Beach Convention Center, including a headquarter hotel
adjacent to the facility.

SUBJECT: Convention Center Advisory Board Motion
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to transmit to you two motions passed by the
Convention Center Advisory Board during their regular meeting held on April 3, 2012. The
following two (2) motions pertaining to the enhancement of the Miami Beach Convention
Center were approved by a unanimous vote of all of the seven (7) members:
1. Motion recommending withdrawal of RFQ 2211/12 forthe Development of the Miami
Beach Convention Center District; and
2. Motion recommending the City issue a new RFP to enhance and improve the Miami
Beach Convention Center to make it competitive, including a headquarter hotel
adjacent to the facility.
