SUBJECT: CMB Players Musical Rendition
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to invite you to one of the most famous Broadway
Productions of all times, "Wicked". The Miami Beach Parks & Recreation's Teen Club Drama
Program will perform the Musical two different nights, premiering Saturday, November 10 with a
second performance on November 17, 2012 at the newly renovated North Shore Park Bandshell .
Auditorium, 7275 Collins Avenue. Doors will open at 7:30pm.
Winner of 35 major awards including the Grammy Award, Wicked is the Untold Story of the Witches
of Oz. The Musical tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West)
and Glinda (the Good Witch of the North), who struggle through opposing personalities and
viewpoints. The play alludes to the subject of racism as Elphaba is harassed by her peers for being
different. CMB Players actors will give you a glimpse. of how OZ truly was - through a myriad of
acting scenes, songs and choreographed routines.
The Miami Beach Drama Club program strives to engage in cultural performances that are geared
for the entire family. The theatrical performance will be free of charge giving everyone an opportunity
to come and enjoy.
The Teen Club Drama Program, the Miami Beach Players, have put on other performances
such as the Streets, Numb, Dysfunctional and the Freak Show. They are now raising the bar
even higher with their new seasonal depiction of "Wicked ".
