SUBJECT: CHARTER REVIEW BOARD APPOINTMENTS
This LTC is to remind you that direct appointments should be made to the Ad Hoc Advisory
Charter Review and Revision Board as soon as possible.
Pursuant to Resolution 2012 - 28072, the Ad Hoc Charter Review and Revision Board was
created to review the City's Charter, and is composed of seven members who are direct
appointees of the individual City Commissioners and the Mayor. The Board's term
commence on January 1, 2013 and expire on January 1, 2014 (subject to earlier or later
sunset by the City Commission). A copy of Resolution 2012 -28072 is attached hereto.
Direct appointments can be made by notifying the City Clerk.

RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -28072
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CREATING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
AD HOC CHARTER REVIEW AND REVISION BOARD; PRESCRIBING ITS
DUTIES, AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF ITS APPOINTMENT
AND THE TERMS OF OFFICE OF ITS MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Miami Beach City Charter section 8.01, the Charter shall
be reviewed ten (10) years from November 3, 1993 and each tenth year thereafter"; and
WHEREAS, a review of the City's Charter is of continued importance to the welfare
of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, review of the City's Charter can best be accomplished by the creation
and appointment of an Ad Hoc Advisory Charter Review and Revision Board to be
composed of seven members who shall be direct appointees of the individual City
Commissioners and the Mayor, and whose terms shall commence on January 1, 2013 and
expire on January 1, 2014 (subject to earlier or later sunset by the City Commission). The
Board's powers of review shall include submittal of a report to the City Commission by
June 1, 2013, which report shall include any recommendations concerning proposed
amendments to the City's Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach
Ad Hoc Charter Review and Revision Board is hereby created for the purpose of reviewing
the City's Charter and the Board shall be composed of seven direct appointees of the
Miami Beach City Commission, with Board terms commencing on January 1, 2013 and
expiring on January 1, 2014 (subject to earlier or later sunset by the City Commission).
