SUBJECT: Florida Power and Light scheduled tree - pruning locations.
This letter will provide you with information regarding the ongoing power line /street tree
maintenance pruning that is in process at select locations within Miami Beach.
Florida Power and Light (FPL), routinely schedules the clearing of tree limbs within close
proximately to their transmission lines utilizing certified line clearance specialists. When this
work is required, the FPL Utility Arborist works directly with the City Urban Forester Mark .
Williams, to ensure the work is performed according to industry standards and with a
minimumlof disruption to our citizens.'
According to the 2011 Florida Statutes Chapter 163 Section 3209, this work is permitted
when the Utility provides the official designated by the local government, in this case Mr.
Mark Williams, with a minimum of 5 business days' advance notice.
Recently Florida Power and Light has contacted Mr. Williams to advise that they have
scheduled maintenance pruning during the second half of January with completion planned
for the 1 st week of February in accordance with the provided graphical attachment.
We will advise if this schedule requires amending or if additional locations are added.
