SUPERVISOR OF. ELECTIONS . TO `END ELECTIONS FOR CHARTER AMENDMENTS OR ANY OTHER QUESTIONS.. No later than PRIMARY ELECTION Friday, June 6, 2014 No later than August 12, 201.4 (Same as Federal, State, and Friday, May 23, 2014 County offices) GENERAL ELECTION No later.than No later than November 4, 2014. Friday, August 15, 2014 Tuesday, - July 22, 2014 Should the City of Miami Beach have a scheduled election or wish to conduct a special election along with the countywide 2014 Primary and /or General Elections, the deadlines listed above must be followed, in order to allow time for ballot preparation and to meet State - mandated deadlines to mail absentee ballots to overseas voters.. Pursuant to Florida Statute § 100.151,. "...the governing authority of a municipality.shall not callany special election until notice is given to the supervisor of elections and his (her) consent obtained as to a date..." Once approval is obtained from the supervisor of elections, the resolution and /or ordinance to call a special election must be passed to meet the deadlines listed above.
