SUBJECT: Staffing changes in Real Estate, using and Community Development
ThisLetter to Commission is to inform you of staffing changes in Real Estate, Housing and
Community Development ( REHCD).
Ms. Anna Parekh was dismissed from her position as director of REHCD last week, as a
result of several actions regarding the management of her division. The most troubling was
her attempt to falsify documents to support grant charges. Fortunately, this was brought to
our attention prior to being submitted. Such unprofessional conduct cannot be tolerated. In
her specific situation, the problem was compounded when she failed to understand or
accept that what she had attempted to do was incorrect.
Ensuring that the highest of ethical standards are maintained across the entire organization
is one of the highest priorities of my administration.
In the immediate term, I have appointed Max Sklar to oversee the real estate component of
the Division and Maria Ruiz to oversee all other functions.
