Granado, City Clerk Date: June 12, 2013 SUBJECT: Signed Petitions Submitted by "Let Miami Beach Decide" Petitioning The City Commission To Submit To The Electors Of Miami Beach Amendments To Section 1.03 Of The Miami Beach City Charter. Pursuant to Section 7.04 of the City of Miami Beach Charter,the City Clerk has determined that the petition papers that were formally presented to the City Commission on June 5, 2013 by"Let Miami Beach Decide" Chairman Jonah Wolfson are in proper form. Pursuant to Section 7.04 of the Miami Beach City Charter and Section 6.03 (A) of the Code of Miami-Dade County, the City Clerk will transmit the original signed petitions to the Miami-Dade County Elections Department,for the purpose of obtaining a determination whether the petition as a whole has been signed by ten percent (10%) of the qualified electors of the City of Miami Beach. The City Clerk will request that the Miami-Dade County Elections Department promptly complete a certificate as to the petition's sufficiency as to the requisite number of signatures. Upon receiving notification from the Miami-Dade County Elections Department,the City Clerk shall then promptly forward the certificate on to the petition's initiator and shall present the certificate to the City Commission.
