SUBJECT: Family Fun Day at the Scott Rakow outh Center-A Dedication to Scott Rakow
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to extend an invitation to you to enjoy an afternoon of
fun in loving memory of Miami Beach Police Officer Scott Rakow on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from
1:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m. at the Scott Rakow Youth Center.
Twenty-five years ago, Scott Rakow lost his life in the line of duty on June 30, 1988. As part of the
celebration,the City is offering a free family day that will include ice skating, bowling, and inflatable
rides. In addition, there will be a dedication wall that will display pictures and articles on the life of
Scott Rakow as well as a video of Erica Rakow, the daughter of Scott Rakow, who is now a
newscaster in Jacksonville,talking about her father at the Police Memorial held in Washington, D. C.
