SUBJECT: Personnel Board Group 2 Election
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 93 -2868, the Office of the City Clerk commenced election
procedures to elect the employee representative of Group 2forthe Personnel Board, forthe
term commencing August 1, 2013 and ending July 31, 2016. Group 2 consist of employees
who are in clerical and executive positions.
On June 7, 2013, a notice was sent to eligible Group 2 employees informing them that an
election had been called to elect the Group 2 employee representative to the Personnel
Board. The notice was disseminated via" e-mail to the Department Directors, Division
Directors, and ManagementTeam, with instructions to post and distribute the notice among
their employees. Group 2 employees had from Monday, June 17, 2013 to Friday, June 28,
2013 to declare their interest in qualifying to run as the Group 2 employee representative on
the Personnel Board.
The incumbent -to the Group 2 seat, Mr. George S. Castell, Code Compliance Administrator,
from the Building Department/Code Compliance Division, was the only employee who filed
to fill the vacancy in Group 2; therefore, Mr. Castell was deemed elected without opposition
as the Group 2 employee representative to the Personnel Board, to fill the three -year term
ending on July 31, 2016.
