LTC # 243 -2013 LETTER TO COMMISSION TO: Mayor Matti Herrera Bower and embers of e City Commission FROM: Jimmy Morales, City Manager DATE: July 15, 2013 SUBJECT: Indian Creek Volunteer Cleanup Saturday, July 20, 2013 The purpose_ of this LTC is to inform you that the City of Miami Beach, Community Resource and Outreach Team, is working to assist the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach ( ECOMB) in organizing a cleanup along the east banks of Indian Creek between 26 and 30 Streets. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2013, 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This will be the third cleanup along the banks of the creek this year. The prior events were held on January 26 and May 17 ECOMB will also reach out to the private property owners who are responsible for property upkeep. Volunteers will meet at 28 and Indian Creek at 8:30 a.m. and will focus primarily on the removal and proper disposal of litter. It is anticipated that over 50 volunteers will participate in this event. The Outreach Team is coordinating with Parks and Recreation Greenspace Division, Public Works Sanitation, Streets and Environmental Divisions, Police, and Parking Departments to provide the necessary materials and services for this project.
