SUBJECT: Cultural Arts Council motions
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform you of two motions which passed
unanimously at the last meeting of the Cultural Arts Council (CAC) on July 11, 2013.
1. The CAC enthusiastically supports the proposed "interior expansion" plan for the
Bass Museum of Art, which will increase the Museum's ability to serve residents
with its unique combination of artistic and educational programming. The CAC
praised Silvia Karmann Cubina, George Lindemann and the Museum's Board of
Directors for the tremendous strides made under their leadership.
2. The CAC unanimously supports maintaining the existing structure and use of the
Jackie Gleason Theater, one of our community's most important historic and
cultural assets.
